Book Museum

The Book Museum is housed in the former building of treasury in Lutsk Castle, built in 1807. The museum exhibits books of the 17-20 centuries. The main pride of museum is a Gospel, published in Lviv in 1644. Another valuable exhibit is two-volume “Trebnyk” by Metropolitan Petro Mogyla published in 1646. In addition, visitors can see the reconstructed ancient printing presses, one of them from the 15th century.

Zhiduvka

The Zhiduvka River is a small left tributary of the Styr River in Lutsk. It is about 4 km long and a basin area of 9.5 km². The river originates west of Lvivska Street, flows parallel to the streets of Bohenko and Mamsurov, then crosses Potebni Street and flows into the Styr. In general, the river is completely canalized, with a weak current. It can dry up in the summer and freeze in the winter during severe frosts.

The Styr River, originating from numerous springs in the Voronyaki hills, is Lutsk’s main waterway. The river flows inside the Lviv, Rivne and Volyn regions, after which it crosses the border with the Brest region (Belarus), where it flows into the Pripyat River (Dnieper basin).

The Sapalaivka River is a right tributary of the Styr, flowing through the city of Lutsk and Lutsk district of Volyn region. It has a length of 12.4 km (8.3 km within Lutsk) and a basin area of 39.2 km².
