Volyn became the center of authentic folklore to promote and give new life to old customs and traditions.

Participants of the festival came from all over Ukraine: Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Rivne, Poltava, Kirovograd, Ternopil and other regions. There were also participants from abroad: Ukrainian communities from Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, and Romania.

In Lubart’s castle, actors of the Taras Shevchenko Drama Theatre presented an important part of Lutsk history – the Monarch’s meeting of 1429. Other groups showed what they know of Ukrainian folklore by singing and playing different songs. At the same time all along Lesia Ukrainka Street and on the Theatre Square a real Ukrainian market took place, where craftsmen showed their skills. Pottery, ceramics, basket weaving, carving, embroidering, weaving, and straw art were everywhere during the tree-day festival.

At all the sites, scenes inherent to Ukrainian traditions were presented: harvesting, preparation of a wedding, young men’s courage and the beauty of Ukrainian girls, music and street feasts. The pearl of the festival was the "Ukrainian Wedding" where authentic wedding ceremonies not only from all over Ukraine, but also from Romania, Belarus and Poland were shown.
