The “Yagodin” detained a Volunian and a citizen of Armenia who tried to move three Ukrainian women across the border for their further sexual exploitation to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The 29-year-old citizen of Ukraine and a 31-year-old citizen of the Republic of Armenia were detained while trying to export them abroad to three Ukrainian citizens, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Volhynia informs.
Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Volyn region, investigators of the Investigation Department together with the employees of the Department for Combating Crimes Related to Trafficking in Persons, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Volyn Oblast and the inter-district operational-search department (with the location of the locality Lutsk) of the State Border Guard Service in accordance with art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine detained a citizen of Armenia and a volunite who recruited and planned to relocate young women for the purpose of their further sexual exploitation to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Men were detained while moving three Ukrainian women through an international checkpoint “Yagodin” to the Republic of Poland.
According to this fact, a criminal investigation into illegal recruitment and removal of persons for sexual exploitation (criminal offense, stipulated by Part 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being investigated.
In the field of operational units, one of the intruders was in the summer of last year. During the operational development, several facts of preparation for committing criminal activity were documented and a circle of the involved persons was established. Attackers, using the vulnerable state of the victims, promised to arrange the girls for supposedly legal work in Germany, but in fact, by deception, they driven the victims into debt bondage for further sexual exploitation.
In the criminal proceedings, necessary first-priority investigative and procedural actions are conducted.
The issue of detainees’ reports about suspicion and the election of a preventive measure is being solved.
