The history of the castle dates back to six hundred years. During 1340-1384 the Grand Duke of Lithuania Lubart Gedyminovych started qualitative renovation of fortifications, replacing the wooden fortifications with brick ones. After the death of Lubart the renewal of the Castle was continued by Vytautas Keistutovych. Castle has three high rectangular towers: Entrance, Styrova and Bishop’s.
