Near the St. Peter and Paul cathedral still stand two-storey building of the late 18th century. During the 1890-1891 it was home of the brilliant Kosach family. A memorial museum “Lesya’s Living Room” was opened in honor of the poetess. On the basis of the exhibited materials, you can imagine the everyday life of a big family, which has left a significant mark on the life of Ukraine. Lutsk is closely related to Lesya Ukrainka’s name. Here in her early childhood Larysa Kosach wrote her first poem called “Nadiya” (“Hope”).
The rooms contain old furniture and 100-year-old piano. You will be able to see porcelain dishes, an old kerosene lamp, an ink pen, masterfully reproduced copies of Lesya’s autographs and books that Lesya loved to read.
