THE KORSAKS’ MUSEUM OF THE CONTEMPORARY UKRAINIAN ART
Mision of the museum is to create museum institution of the highest level that changes past, reflects present and creates future to develop the nation spirituality and promote Ukrainian art in the world. Here you can see the largest painting in the world – “Cosmogony”, covering an area of over 2000 square meters.
The Museum Space «Okolnyi Castle»
The Museum Space «Okolnyi Castle» is a new tourist attraction created on the basis of restored architectural monuments of national importance: the Chortoryiski princes tower with part of the defensive wall and the Jesuit Monastery with its dungeons.
Museum of Bells
The Museum of Bells in Lutsk Castle is the only museum of its kind in Ukraine. It is located in the Bishop’s tower of 14 century. The largest bell in the collection weigh is 350 kilograms. The oldest bell in the collection (made in 1647) is extremely rare in Ukraine, because many bells were melted into guns during the Cossack wars. This bell remembers the times of Bohdan Khmelnytsky.
Book Museum
The Book Museum is housed in the former building of treasury in Lutsk Castle. The museum exhibits books of the 17-20 centuries.
Art museum
The museum presents works of national schools of Spain, Italy, Flanders, France, Austria, Germany, England and Poland from the period of 17 – first third of 20 centuries. In this oasis of art, you can see works by Ivan Aivazovsky, Nicolas Poussin, Frans Snyders, Jusepe de Ribera and even Lucas Cranach the Elder!
Museum “Lesya’s living room”
Near the St. Peter and Paul cathedral still stand two-storey building of the late 18th century. During the 1890-1891 it was home of the Kosach family.
Art Gallery
The Art Gallery is an exhibition hall in Lutsk. Artists from Lutsk, Ukraine and abroad present their works here.
Pharmacy museum
On the former market square of the city is located the oldest pharmacy in Lutsk, which operated since the middle of the XIX century. Its first owner, Petro Zlotsky, rebuilt building of the 18th century for this purpose.
